I realize that this is an outdoor blog, but it is also my blog so I can do what I want on it right?
I normally don’t write about politics here, because I try to focus on what this site is really about: The outdoors. I find, though, that on this election eve, it is hard to not write about what is happening tomorrow. It is like trying to ignore an elephant that is sitting in your living room.
While I will not endorse any candidate with this post-because I choose to keep that a personal thing that not everyone needs to know-I will follow Blessed’s lead and lay out a few of my ideas on where I think the country needs to go.
When you head to the polls tomorrow please remember the things that make this country great. Are you voting for the candidate who is looking out for your best interests? Are you voting for the candidate who is going to lead us down the path that this country needs to head? Are you voting for the candidate who will unite this country again, and help to bring this country back to where it needs to be? Are you voting for the candidate who is going to reward you for you hard work? Are you voting for the candidate who has the safety and defense of this country as a top priority?
I just really want to make sure that everyone is voting for the candidates because they feel that candidate has their, and their countries best interests at heart. Please don’t vote for either of them because you believe they can “change” this country. Vote for them because you believe that their voting record, and ideals, are in line with yours and the best interests of the country. Please don’t vote for them because you think they are better looking, or because they are better in front of the camera–vote for them because they are the right candidate; the one who will do what is right for this country.
All of us have a duty to get out and vote tomorrow. That is our right, and that is a right, that if we ever needed to exercise it, it is now.
Do your research, look at your candidates record, and then get out there and vote.
Don’t take for granted what so many people in this world are not privileged enough to have: a voice!
