While Jeff and I have had a miserable season so far, Justin’s mom – aka Sharon – has been having a great year. After her early season success, she backed it up by putting another one in the freezer – and a nice looking buck at that. I guess those crossbows really do work.
On another positive note: Jeff has been hunting with his brother-in-law, who is on leave from Afghanistan. Unfortunately, they didn’t have much luck this weekend, but they’re going to be trying again next weekend. Jeff is filming the whole thing, so hopefully he can capture one of Wes’ kills on film; it’s the least thing we can do, considering he is protecting our freedom every day.
And me? I’m fighting a case of the “no deer blues”. I did finally see deer from a treestand, though – a decent buck running a few does in a bean field – but, as far away as they were, I think I would’ve been better off not seeing them.
Congrats again to Justin’s mom
And hopefully the season will start to improve for Jeff and I here real soon.

Congratulations to Sharon and I too hope that Wes is able to have a successful deer hunt before he goes back on duty. I appreciate the sacrifices the men and women who serve in our military make. Their families make great sacrifices too and I also appreciate that.
We’ve almost eaten all the venison in our freezer, and Hubby even killed a small deer early in bow season, but he hasn’t seen anything else since – I hope his luck changes for the better soon too!
It’s not over ’til it’s over Arthur! Congrats to Sharon. Again!
Great looking buck!… sure hope your luck turns for the better… and best wishes to Wes!
Congratulations to Sharon on another fine example of a whitetail deer.
