Well Arthur, I hesitate to even answer bcause thats the million dollar question for any of us I would guess and I believe every once in awhile we have to come back to that question time and time again. Why am I doing this? I believe if I don't enjoy writing, I'm smoking the wrong weed. From what I've seen, some write to entertain, some write to give instruction, some write to communicate with others about knowledge, about their feelings, about strengthening our hunting bonds. You name it, theres a 100 different reason why we write. I guess we all just have to be honest with ourselves and do it for the answer we come up with. I can't imagine tying myself to have to put something down every day, some are able to do it but that would take the fun out of it for me. I just like to tell stories, pure and simple. So its an individual thing, just make sure you enjoy what you are doing. I think thats great that you do it even as a journal for future reference and if others want to look in - great. I enjoy looking over others blogs and the ones I tend to more then others are the story tellers. Some I comment on, some I don't - time element again. Some even get to heavy for me - I favor the lighter side, maybe thats my age.

Come on over some time and over cold pizza we can chat about it. I think I'll stick to my chicken sandwich though.

Hey Art -

Good question!

My thoughts at the moment lead right back to questions: What's really exciting you or moving your heart? What's really making you think?

Those events and topics are, I think, the ones that tend to generate more responses from folks. If it excites or moves you or makes you think, it'll probably do the same for others.

I've had the same problems with my blog - hardly any comments. But I'm the same as Jody - I haven't hardly been visiting blogs either - my schedule is insane these days.

Art,
I know how you feel. Sometimes you feel your talking to yourself. And before you know it your even answering yourself!
I send out an email blast about once a month, it really jumps the figures on my analytic's report. I've decided number of comments is not a good measure of readership.

It is that time of year and some of my regulars seem to not be regulars. I haven't been visiting blogs as regularly as I use to either though. I'm hoping sometime soon, I can make the time to figure out what's working and what isn't as far as my time is concerned.

I'd hate to see you not posting. I've always enjoyed your blog. Maybe it is time for change though. But only you can answer that. ;)
