I saw one run across M52 in Lenawee county a fews years ago. I couldn't believe it! I am familiar with cougars, having lived in Idaho for a while, just didn't expect to see one on my way in to work one morning here in Michigan. We hunted around them regularly in Idaho without any problems, though they did make me a little nervous.

I think cougars - and all the other big cats - are fascinating animals... but I sure wouldn't want to encounter one while I was out in the woods!
