If you are a Michigan hunter or fisherman you’ve had this happen to you: you head to the DNR website – looking for specific information – and after minutes of searching you still end up empty-handed and frustrated because you couldn’t find the information you were looking for. It’s happened to me, and it’s happened to Jeff, and to be honest we are sick and tired of it.
With that in mind I created a new page on our site. The page is called MDNR Resources, and it is a page filled with common resources that people would be looking for on the Michigan DNR webpage. The cool thing about this page, though, is that there is no hunting to find what you want; it is right there, right in front of you and contains direct links to the information you’re looking for; no obscurities, no hassle.
We encourage all of you Michigan outdoorsmen (and women) to head on over to our new resource page and check it out. And please feel free to leave us comments, and let us know what we can do to improve it. Also, if you think of something that people always need to find – and I don’t have it on the page yet, and you think it deserves a spot – don’t hesitate to let us know and we will add it to the site.
We think this new page is a great addition to our site, and we hope you do too. Please check it out and let us know what you think.

This page is a really good idea. Just by coincidence, I was looking for info. on Michigan’s youth deer hunt for an article I’m writing. Where can I find that?
If you look under the “Special License Information” area you will find a few links that have to do with the Youth Hunt. Also, if you look under “Season Information and Guides”, and click Deer it tells you the dates for this year’s Youth Hunt. Unfortunately there isn’t one spot where all the information for the Youth Hunt is located, plus the 2009-2010 Hunting Guide hasn’t come out yet.
It is a good idea. I really dislike the dep website for Connecticut because you can’t find what your looking for have the time.
The CT site is not user friendly.
Some sites are very confusing. Great addition to your blog.
