Lack of Respect
With the new day breaking, I walked the bank of the Pere Marquette, looking for my first honey hole of the morning.  It was beautiful – the sun’s rays bouncing off the banks, bringing new life to the early spring forage - but, as I walked along, something on the trail ahead caught my eye. WTF? A beer can.  And another beer can.  I hate trash! It amazes me as to how little respect s...
First Hawaiian Island Adventure
For those of you that regularly follow Simply Outdoors'  blog you know that I recently relocated to Hawaii. It has been a hectic and crazy summer to say the least, but I did finally get to experience my first "island edition" outdoor excursion recently. Words and pictures probably won't give the experience its due justice, but here it goes anyways. The day trip was planned to consist of a hike...
Another Mounted Buck for Justin
Our SimplyOutdoor Pro Staffer, Justin, had a great deer season last year.  And if you need to be reminded as to how "great" it was, you can click here. But, even though all of us completely remember how great his season was, and because Justin is the complete jerk that he is, he likes to send pictures months after the season in order to continue to rub it in. The picture in this post is of ...
Primal Thoughts
The corn is shoulder high, farmers are harvesting their wheat crop already, tomorrow it is supposed to be ninety degrees, and yet all I can think about is fall. It’s always interesting to see what triggers the senses and summons that primal hunting urge within.  The corn stalks glistening in the morning sun caught my eye this morning, as well as the morning sun’s reflection on the tractor ...
Role Reversal
After stumbling across this picture, I'm starting to get a little concerned.  I know that bears inhabit many of the woods around us, and while their population may be small in my area of Michigan, if they are starting to get this smart I might need to be careful when scouting, hunting, or simply heading to my treestand. And, Mike, my fellow Michigan hunting blog friend and bear hunter, you and...

Waiting on Blog Content

Posted By: Arthur on December 4, 2008 in Ramblings - Comments: 7 Comments »

As you can tell, my new content suppliers for the blog are doing one heck of a job aren’t they? (not!).  Hopefully they get their act together soon, and actually decide to supply something for the site.  In Jeff’s defense, I know he is currently working on an end-of-the-year video, so hopefully that will be up soon.  It’s Jeff’s first time taking a crack at creating the videos, so it will be interesting to see what he comes up with.   Lord knows there won’t be much footage of me on it.

And as far as the former South Carolinians contributions to the site, I’m not really sure where that stands.  He keeps telling me that he will write something, but I have yet to see or hear anything about it.  And since he is currently down near the lowcountry, if he desires to post something, he should let me know and I would be glad to get him set up with an account on here.

Both of these guys have been talking a big game about wanting to write on here.  And I have given them ample opportunity.  Only time will tell if they really mean what they say.  I think they are starting to appreciate what it takes to write a post on here everyday.  I guess I need to rack my brain to come up with things to write, because if all of you have to wait for them for content, it will be Christmas before it gets here……literally!

Oh, and on a side note, Abby turned 2 months old yesterday.  Man how the time flies.

Arthur I know how tough it is to put content on my blog some days, it’s not easy. In this day and age of run here and run there and do this and do that we are luck to have time for anything else.

    Hang tough……..

I’m glad to hear Abby is doing well, take lots of pictures because before you know it they are growing up.

  2. Wow, Abby’s two months old already! Time does fly.

I think all bloggers face the issue of having to create content. If you need a guest post or two let me know. I could probably whip something up. There have to be parts of Michigan I haven’t written about yet.

  3. Aww Abby! They are so sweet at that age. Except for the crying.

I saw you mention someone got ran over by a reindeer on another blog and I’m not so sure I read about it here. Have I?

C’mon fellas! Don’t let Arthur down.

There. That was my best attempt at a pep talk – and thus you see the reason I’m not coaching in the NFL.

It is certainly easier to WANT to post things, than it is to actually come up with stuff to post :)

Love your posts, Arthur, but I do look forward to your other guys doing some posting too, just to get even more perspectives.
