Hunting Karma

Info

karmacop-311×322.jpgI’m not a huge fan of the show, but anyone who has watched My Name is Earl, knows that the whole concept of the show is based on karma.  Jeff found out that karma not only applies to celebrities in a sitcom, but can also come around and directly effect you when you’re hunting.

Jeff called me yesterday, and offered to do a good deed.  I couldn’t get out to our property until this weekend, so – since he was on his way to go hunting anyway -  he asked if I wanted him to stop by, pick up my pop-up blind, and get it set up in a spot on the property that we had talked about the previous night.  Of course I took him up on his offer and told him where the blind was in my garage, and promptly let my wife know that he would be swinging by.

He gets out to the property, sets up my blind in the spot we discussed – and even though he already has 3 deer in the freezer – hunts my blind.  And here I thought Jeff was trying to do a nice thing, and then the truth came out – he wasn’t trying to be nice, he was just trying to increase his chances of a kill by using my blind.  Nice!

After a few hours of hunting, he has a nice mature doe come right into his shooting lane.  The gun barks and shoots its lethal payload………….right past the deer.  I told ya, it’s all about karma.  Jeff acted nice, set up my blind, tried to shoot a deer out of it, and missed her clean at 18yds.  Next time, Jeff, you might want to use the muzzleloader.

Karma can follow you anywhere, even into the hunting woods.  I think Earl would be smiling about now.
