I still can’t believe how fast it happened. Mom and I both knew that something was definitely going on Thursday night, but I’m not quite sure we knew we would have a new daughter by the next evening. I guess little Abigail has a mind of her own already.
I’m writing this post as I sit in the hospital room. Mom, Abby, and I are all working on getting to know each other. So far everything has went very well. Mom is doing good, despite having to have a C-section; Abby is gorgeous and is doing very well too; Dad is still trying to get all the routines down. And yes, I have already changed quite a few dirty diapers.
She was born on Friday evening at 6:08. She weighed 7lbs 11ozs and she was 21 inches long. She sure made it quite a struggle for mom. But I don’t think, at this point, that mom really cares about all the things Abby put her through. It has been fast and furious, but we wouldn’t change it for anything.
I will be staying home for a couple weeks to help out around the house and help to take care of my future huntress. I will attempt to get some pictures posted of her in her camo outfit too.
Hunting, and all outdoor-related activities are going to suffer for a little while. I don’t care though. I wouldn’t trade any of this for the world.
Don’t be alarmed if the posts aren’t as frequent in the next few weeks. It is only because I am sleeping when it is available, rather than writing a post. It is going to be great though, and I am very much looking forward to it.
I will be sure and keep doing updates every once in awhile. And Jeff will still be hunting so I will be sure to keep everyone informed on how his hunting activities go as well.
I’m a daddy!!!! I’ve already convinced her that Michigan State is the way to go with college sports. Hopefully I can convince that hunting is a good way to go as well.
Check me out in this photo. And here I thought you had to go through all those years of medical school to wear an outfit like that.

Congratulations! I gotta admit that I got choked up reading a Daddy’s version of their daughter’s birth. It’s very touching when Men talk so personally about something so beautiful. You are truly blessed! Your daugher is precious. Do you think she and Sarah could hunt together this year? *wink*
