Huntin’ Time Expo/My Lack of Posts
It's absolutely no secret that I've been neglectful of this blog lately. Some evidence: I never posted a few of the deer that Justin shot. I didn't post anything about Jeff, Barry, Erin, and Josh heading down to the ATA show in Columbus a little over a week ago. And I've never posted anything about the fact that SimplyOutdoors TV will be airing on the Pursuit Channel starting in January 2...
End of Deer Season: Maybe I Stink
Last night I cleaned my muzzleloader.  And though I usually love the feeling that comes with cleaning any firearm, last night's cleaning kind of depressed me a little, because it was a sure sign that another deer season had passed and that I had once again went through an entire season without putting any venison in the freezer. As I was cleaning and reflecting back on the last couple of seaso...
Bittersweet Hunt: The Rest of the Story
In my previous post, I eluded to the fact that my miss last Sunday morning was only the beginning of a very memorable morning.  Here is the "rest of the story". After my miss, it was still only a little after 8am, so Jeff and I decided that we might as well stick it out for a little while and see if any other deer decided they wanted to eat out of his food plot. And that is when the weirdne...
Bittersweet Hunt
Though I had only been able to hunt a handful of times, the fact remained that I hadn't laid eyes on a deer since around October 8th.  It was making it pretty difficult to head into the woods, because I honestly wasn't sure if I was ever going to see a deer again; I was starting to wonder if I had a deer whistle permanently embedded within my body that was preventing them from coming within a hal...
Another Deer for Jeff
While I don't have much to celebrate when it comes to deer hunting, after tonight I can bask in at least one thing:  that I told Jeff about Hornady SST's, and that, because of my wisdom, Jeff was able to put down this big doe without fear of his bullet coming apart. Congrats to Jeff.  Welcome to the dark side, and say goodbye to Powerbelts.

A Friday Thank You!

thank-you.jpgThis post is strictly for one blogger.  I know that sounds mean, considering the amount of different bloggers who read this site.  But, in this instance, I feel it is appropriate to write a post that is meant for only one.

About a week ago I received surprise email from Blessed.  This email informed the wife and I that we were about to receive a gift in the mail.  I have to say it was completely unexpected.  But it was a pleasant surprise to receive such news.  The wife and I had no idea what it could be–we just waited with anticipation.

A few days ago the package finally arrived.  We could not have been more pleased with what was inside:  Some Baby Legs, and a homemade blanket/car seat cover/ for little Abby.

We didn’t expect a gift, but we thought it was very cool that Blessed, on her own accord, would go to such lengths to give us a gift.  So, in that spirit, I am writing a post strictly to her to say thank you.  The wife and I very much appreciate it.

  1. That was really sweet of Blessed. I’m sure both will come in handy.

  2. Blessed says:

You are welcome Arthur – it really isn’t much, I hope you three get as much use out of the carseat cover/blanket that we did! You’ll find that when I made it I accidentally put one of the clips on backwards :) – it still works and I liked it much better than the regular covers during the fall and spring!

Oh and the baby legs are great! My Lil Sugar can’t pull them off like she does her socks and shoes :)

  3. Jeff says:

Wow, that was super nice of her! She really is a thoughtful person. Of course, all of her readers already know that…

  4. Rick says:

I do realize this is meant for Blessed and with good reason if you ask me.

You never know what people/friends will do when you least expect it.

  5. CDGardens says:

It certainly was a nice gift that Blessed provided for your new addition. ;)
