Fall Colors

September 11th, 2008

fall-leaves.jpgIt’s almost that time again; almost time for the leaves to start their transformation.  It is amazing to watch what mother nature can do; to watch her transformation.  It is almost as if the leaves become aflame; all the reds, and yellows, slowly shining their way through until the transformation is complete.  It is a such a grand splendor, even if it ultimately results in the leafs free fall, and death.  It is just another way that mother nature revives herself.  And it sure provides a great spectacle for all of us to enjoy.

I can’t wait to be able to sit amongst this grand transformation.  I can’t wait to be sitting in a treestand, breathing the crisp fall air, and taking in the show that is fall.  All of us hunters get to witness this great event up close and personal.  We notice, as the season starts, how green the forest is.  Then, as the season starts to change, we notice the change in the scenery around us, and we also ultimately notice, the absense of leaves once that process is complete.  Unless you hunt, you more than likely have never heard a leaf detach from its branch, and slowly free-fall to its ground location, where it will decompose and provide life for others.  It is something that is so simple, and yet something that so many people have missed.

I am looking forward to watching the leaves change, and taking in everything that is fall.  And I can’t think of a better way to do it, then while I’m sitting in a treestand, taking in mother nature, and watching all of the great things She has to offer.  If you haven’t experienced it, you’re definitely missing out.

This season is almost upon us!

I love the fall season - except the weather…reminds me that winter is coming. I know, I’m a wimp. It is simply beautiful this time of year, though. The aspens are always the first to change their colors over here, and I’ve noticed many of them in the mountains are already beginning to change.
