A Baby Update
I have had plenty of inspiration for posts lately. It seems that everywhere I turn there was something that was motivating me to write. I could write about a few of the things that happened on vacation (and those will be coming next week, or at least some of them), or I could write another Shiloh post that I’ve had in my head. I even contemplated writing a deeper post about something I read on Kristine’s blog today, but in the end I decided to go with a very good topic-our bun in the oven.
I haven’t written a baby update in quite awhile, so I figured now was as good a time as any to write one. We have now been through two ultrasounds and both went very well. All the necessary parts were visible and accounted for. You all know by now that we are having a girl, so there is no need to tell you that again, but I do have an update on a name.
We had contemplated over quite a few names, and taken into account many suggestions about names, but ultimately agree at this point, that it is going to be Abigail. Abigail Michelle has a nice ring to it I think. I’m not a betting man, but I would almost bet at this point, that the name will not change. The wife and I are both in agreement and feel pretty strong about it. Thanks for everyone’s input about names, and Jody, I love the name Autumn as well, but when my last name is a different season, it doesn’t really work:)
On a different note, I also felt my first movement while on vacation. We were on the boat on the 4th and suddenly the wife is thrusting my hand on her stomach. I wait patiently and lo and behold I feel a little thump. It is the only one I’ve felt so far, in multiple attempts, but it was very cool and there was no question what I was feeling. The wife feels movement all the time now, but obviously that doesn’t always translate into movement I can feel on the outside.
The bottom line is that the pregnancy is going well, and the wife seems to get bigger everyday (I mean that in a nice way honey). We will be starting on the baby room sometime very soon as well. We already have the crib on order, and we need to get registered for the baby showers as well. I think I’m going to get a stroller like Blessed has. That thing is sooo freaking cool.
So that pretty much wraps up the baby update. I hope everyone has a good weekend.

I am very glad that MOM is doing well and I really like the name. Both of you are in for quite the surprise and I have no doubt that you both will do well.
I’m assuming that picture is of your wife and baby? That is cute!
Abigail Michelle sounds like a perfect name. Will she be called Abby? We have Addison and call her Addy. Sometimes I call her Addy Kapaddy. Yes, I’m the goofy Aunt.
yes that is my wife in the picture, and yes we will call her Abbie…I’m not sure about Abbie Kapabbie though.
Everything per normal…Abigail Michelle will be in training for her first boxing match with Dad soon. There will be undeniable fists and feet flying. What a joy to see it happen.
I have a niece named Abigail Mae and she talks all the time so Abbie became Gabby and I call her Gabigail - guess I’m a goofy aunt too
Oh and you’ll get to feel the baby more and more now - just wait until that last month and you’ll be able to see her push Mommy’s tummy as she stretches.
Babies are awesome - you and your wife will love the stroller - I’m enjoying using mine for daily walks (the baby is almost a year old, I think it’s time to get back into my regular clothes…)
I’m so glad everything is going well. I also like the name Abigail. Not everyone uses that name, so she may even be the only Abigail in her class at school.
Not too long now and Abigail will be joining us. I can’t wait to see her first pictures.
Awesome! Love the name - although I have to admit two conflicting season for a name would be pretty funny! But, perhaps humor is not the deciding factor when choosing a baby name?
We’re rootin’ for y’all over there!
I love the name Abigail. After our second son I wanted to try for a little girl but my wife said she was through having babies and got her tubes tied. I am 40 years old and she is 37 so 2 babies are a handful for us older parents. It is so exciting feeling the baby move for the first time. Glad the pregnancy is going fine and wish you all the best.
Love that name. it goes together very well. Feeling that first movement is always exciting! Remind us again: when is the due date?
The due date, for all of those who are curious, is October 18th.
I have been out of the loop for a while, so… congrats on a girl & Love the name!! You guys are gonna have so much fun. Get LOTS of rest now, Your gonna need it!! Good Luck
What a beautiful name. And the birthing experience will truly be one (if not THE ONE) of the most amazing sights you will ever experience. Glad everything is going well with the pregnancy!
