Simply Outdoors with Barbies
I would like to thank Arthur for allowing me to do a guest post while he’s vacationing. It’s such a nice feeling to be on vacation and know your blog will be well taken care of by some amazing bloggers. If I had the code to his template I would add a little pink around here.
When Arthur announced he was going to be a Father for the first time you could just feel his excitement. He also predicted the new litte bundle of joy would be a girl. A few weeks later, Arthur’s prediction came true and he announced the good news to all of his readers. It’s a girl!
So I thought what would be a more appropriate post than to share my advice about little girls.
- From here on out October will be a busy month and I’m not talking about hunting.
4:00 a.m. rise and shine won’t be to get to your stand before sunrise it will be for feedings. - Using that grunt thingymajigger will have to be done a few miles down the road. Can’t wake the baby!
- When she has her first baby picture taken, that is what should go on the wall and not the deer mount.
- Those hunting shows will soon turn to cartoons and Sesame Street.
- It’s ok for little girls to like pink and purple and not just camouflage.
- Little girls look cute in bows not always with a bow.
- Being in the great outdoors with little girls is about being outdoors playing with barbies not about tracking deer.
- Girls sometimes like to carry little purses not little tackle boxes.
- You will find many trinkets in a little girl’s pockets not necessarily worms for bait.
- And if she doesn’t ever want to take a fish off the hook…you know the drill.
I have to say I can’t wait to see the picture of her in her pink camouflage pants with her first fish and her very proud Daddy.

Sounds like good advice to me. We have boys so I don’t know anything about raising little girls!
I’m with you Jody, I can’t wait to see those pictures either. These are some good tips for Arthur, I hope he takes them under advisement.
I hope Arthur is paying attention to your tips… not only are you giving him some good pointers on being a good Daddy but #’s 1, 2, 3 and 4 are things he’d better remember to keep Momma happy!
Love the list, Jody!
I just wanted to add: Camouflage can be girly. The T-shirt I’m wearing now proves it. It’s green, but it has flowers and sparklies in it. The sparklies are an extra special deer-hunting feature. Causes that deer-in-headlights effect.
