I think Spring has officially arrived.
I’m not feeling very motivated to write a post at this point, but I did want to say that the weather forecast is finally looking very nice. We are suppose to have some very pleasant weather over the next few days. It is even going to be in the mid to high 60’s for the rest of this week. Very nice. I can even look past the forecast for rain on Friday and Saturday as long as the temperatures stays in the 60’s.
On another note, it is even suppose to be in the high 60’s for my turkey opener on Monday, the 21st. Hopefully the weather stays like this and gives me a chance to enjoy a good warm non-rainy day in the woods next week.
I’m not holding my breath, because after all it is Michigan, but it is looking very good so far.
If only Spring will bring me a gobbler!!

I want it to get here and stay a while!
OK Arthur, I hate to tell you this, but if you go by the old wives tale, about hearing the frogs three times before spring that I heard from Dad, and I found this on the ‘net (http://www.wunderground.com/blog/JDinWPA/comment.html?entrynum=15&tstamp=200804)
…There is an old wives’ tale that after the peepers sing three times, there will be no more frosts…..
and If you believe the old wive’s tales…
The peepers need to freeze 3 times before spring is truly here. I love hearing them!
Another harbinger of spring will be the return of the ospreys. from Aa3rt at http://forums.somd.com/life-southern-maryland/131670-spring-peepers.html
So according to that and what I have heard, we have one more freeze.
Well thanks Joyce for that mood killer:)
I have a feeling you are probably right though. This is Michigan after all.
I’m with you Arthur, I think Spring is finally going to arrive. It is definitely about time!
Hope the nice weather holds for you until you can get out. Good luck on Monday, and I hope you get your first bird.
It is fun to have warmer temps so you can get out to the timber without being bundled up. I know I find it refreshing .
Good hunting on Tukey Season come Monday.
