I noticed the same on my blogs. Weekends seem to be family days and not blog visiting days. I addition I have the suspicion that during the week most visitors use their office computers to visit blogs. The reason for this assumption is that my states tell me that most visitors come between 9am and 10 am and then again between 1pm and 3pm.

I have the same problem, something I tried last couple of weekends seemed to help. During the week, I might come across some little tip or amusing story, so I will write about it and archive it. Then on the weekend I will post a couple of them in the mornings before I head out if I can remember. It has brought up the numbers somewhat. This weekend it is supposed to be wet and rainy, I wonder if it will keep people inside and on the computer, we'll just have to wait and see.

I have balanced out the lull on the weekends by using StumbleOn to mark my site and several posts. That isn't the best available traffic, but it does look pretty good on the stats page :)

I'm usually busy during the weekends and so spend less time blogging or doing anything else on the computer - I'd rather be outside than inside! I do sometimes post on the weekends and do read some of the blogs I don't get to visit during the week but I'm usually just out and about on the weekend.

Yes...You aren't the only one seeing a change. We all long for the outdoors as much as you do. Keep writing they will come back to check out what is going on. ;)

Arthur,
If people use RSS feeds to check blogs, like I do, they are going to know when you have posted something new. They are not going to check it unless there is something new- so if you don't post on weekends they don't visit it on weekends.

You are so right and yes I agree.

I have been watching mine as well and I do fine during the week but, when it comes to the weekend it gets real slow. Almost like there is nobody around except for me a a few others.

I do see a downturn in readership for both the GSI blog and the OBS blog. I guess a lot of people who hunt and fish have other things to do on weekends, which isn't too much of a shock.

I also take a break from writing for the OBS and GSI on weekends. GSI is a corporate blog, so I write for it as part of my job. I'm not sure why I don't write for the OBS on weekends, but I generally don't.

The drop in traffic on weekends doesn't concern me much as long as it picks back up to "normal" during the week. As long as those numbers bounce back on Monday, I'm fine with a little dip on the weekends.

I've done a few post on the weekends and my traffic wasn't as high as it is during the week. However, I do read some blogs on the weekends.

Hey Art.
I don't track my stats on a weekly basis, but get them from my editor monthly. The only info I get is monthly readership which continues to grow, ever so slowly. I do blogs on the weekend, most of the time, but have no problem "laying low" if I'm too busy with other things! I can tell you this. It is rare to have feed back (comments) over the weekend,so I would assume readership is down at that time. Hope you get some "steelhead!"
