Arthur,

Cool post... I too love music, and most of my adventures seem to have a song or album that was a big part of them as well. And when I remember those times, often it is due to hearing the song/album that was so important to me at that time.
I am (formerly) more of a punk/alternative guy, so much of the music I associate with is/was along that line. However as I have matured in my thinking, I have shifted away from bands that, no matter how great their songs are, do NOT represent me, the political positions I take or the values that I hold.
So like you, I love the NUGE since he is such a conservationist/roll model, is always VERY honest and ROCKS!
I look forward to completing my MEME post tomorrow (still looking for a few pictures to go with it)so that I can go further in to this whole music thing.
Hope you and Jeff, and both of your families, have a great holiday. Merry Christmas!

Yes, my dad too was instrumental in getting me interested in music. As far as I remember he didn't listen to country. He wasn't a hunter.

I can relate to songs being associated with different moments in our life situations.

Great topic in what music might get you to focus the mind in preparation for the hunt.

I am no stranger to Ted Nugent's music. I grew up listening to him and it sure brings back a lot of memories.

Rock on................

Like Michelle I spent alot of time listening to CCR as well.

Rock on twice................

Thanks for adding me to your blogroll, Arthur. I have added you to mine too!

I am a huge camper although I never did learn to hunt (miscommunication between my father and I involving moose and rabbits, long story).

Whenever I go camping I have to have CCR with me. Coincidentally I remember that that band was usually in the tapedeck whenever my father and uncle were leaving for a hunting trip.

Simple man is a good one!

"People done gone put their bible's away, they're living by the law of the jungle not the law of the land"

Get lyric for a lot of issues that effect us today. I've never really associated it with hunting, but I can definitely understand the appeal.

Backwoods Boy is a good one because it's actually about hunting. But the song that actually gets me fired up when I'm headed for the woods is Charlie Daniels Simple Man.
