Definite Non-Typical
If you are regular reader of this site you will remember my sister’s boyfriend, Justin. I featured him in another post recently about his mount that he finally received back from the taxidermist.
Well Justin has done it
again and scored on a pretty unique buck. We are not sure if this buck was getting older and in his downward cycle, or if he had a possible injury that we are not aware of, but either way he definitely has unique rack.
He is a half rack for intensive purposes, but then has the other side that comes out and drops straight down. He actually managed to break off part of that unique side after he was shot. Apparently he went crazy and just started running into things after the shot and managed to break a tip off. I think Justin managed to save it though and he is going to do a European mount that will show off his unique trophy.
The buck was shot in Nashville (Michigan, not Tennessee) just a few days ago. So Justin is on the board again and with a buck that none of us will forget!

Congrats to Justin on the deer. Wow, definitely an interesting rack though!
Tell Justin congratulations on a nice deer. I would almost guess it was injured at some point in time. Pay close attention to the right side when you skin it and cut it up. I am curious to see if I am correct or not.
Hi Art
Congrats to your brother, and Justin. Looks like my next chance will be for muzzleloader season. The deer over in my area seemed to vanish off the face of the earth. Not really! We have a good idea where they are hiding (swamp), but it’s posted. So thick I don’t know how the rabbits get through it. Later!
Mike
Mike, I would try and get permission for that swamp if I were you. I love hunting swamps, they don’t call me ct swamphunter for nothing. Good Luck to you.
