That is a nice buck for sure; I love racks with lots of trash on them!
And remember that it is "mind over matter" when hunting the rut. That monster can come by any time, so don't lose your motivation. Take a few days off, then just keep hunting. And when you least expect it, HE will come by!
Then all you have to do is pick your gun up a little faster than Jeff did with his big one the other day, and put him down.
Good Luck over Thanksgiving, and don't forget to enjoy some time with the family too!

Jen,

Thanks for clearing up the story. I hope I do get a chance to whack something on Wednesday or even the rest of the week.

Bryan,

Hunting does always have its up and downs. This year though has been awesome compared to my last few. At least I have venison in the freezer.

Congrats to "who-knows-who". I wouldn't pass on that guy either! Looking over your past few posts...sounds like hunting season has had its ups and downs. Thanks for keeping us posted, and keep enjoying the woods!

He was shot around 11a.m. by Ray Holton at about 35,40 yards. He was on a hot doe and never saw Ray & Dad. He only presented his head and neck, so Ray shot him in the neck and droped him! Dad was a little bumed he didn't get the shot, but one of the other does came to about 10 feet from the shack and stared in at Dad. Needless to say, Dad couldn't move. Ray gave my parents the horns to mount and keep for "bragging rights for the farm".
