MOOD Magazine Arrives.

Info

mood-cover.jpgSome of you might remember a post I wrote featuring the Michigan United Conversation Clubs. MUCC is the largest statewide conversation organization in the nation, and after talking with the editor of their magazine a few months back, I decided to join. They put out a monthly magazine called the Michigan-Out-of-Doors magazine, and after waiting for a few months my first issue finally arrived yesterday.

I have to be honest and tell you that for a local magazine it is very well put together. I enjoyed reading a few of the articles in the issue last night and I can’t wait to read a few more that pertain to the rut we have coming up in Michigan. There is also an article by Tom Nelson, a noted Michigan bowhunter, about the feral swine problem in Michigan. The magazine covers a wide array of outdoor subjects from hunting, to fishing and beyond. It’s a very typical outdoor magazine, but that is a good thing.

I love the fact that it is a local magazine as well. I’m not trying to alienate all you fellow bloggers out there, but I just feel that in a lot of states there are not enough local publications that address and take into account the local issues that are effecting hunters. Not only the local issues, but also the local hunting pressure, etc. I love being able to read and learn hunting and fishing tips from local people. I love to hear local opinions about local issues that may be effecting the Michigan outdoorperson.

MUCC also has their own Michigan-Out-of-Doors TV program and I have to be honest and say that I have not tuned into the show in quite some time. After reading through the magazine I think I will have to work that into my schedule. I think the Outdoor Channel will understand.

All in all a great read and worth the wait. I’m looking forward to reading more of the deer hunting articles tonight when I have a chance.

Authors note — The magazine pictured is not this month’s edition. I couldn’t find a picture of it, but I wanted to still give everyone an idea of the look of the magazine!

  • It sounds like a good magazine. I bet that it has as much content, if not more than, the major publications. These days, it seems that there is more and more advertising between the covers.

  • That is awesome I’m glad you got it. I like to read a lot also. I get three different subscriptions from memberships and I like them all, they are very informative. I feel the more we read and learn the better we will be as hunters.
